EFCC Arrests 33 Suspected Internet Fraudsters, Seizes Fake Dollars in Port Harcourt

Operatives from the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 33 suspected internet fraudsters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The arrests took place during a sting operation in the Iwofe and Ogboro areas, following credible intelligence on the suspects’ involvement in online fraud.

During the operation, various items were seized, including multiple mobile devices, laptops, boxes of counterfeit U.S. dollars, fake FBI, Customs, and airport clearance stamps, as well as DHL and FedEx stamps. Additionally, two cars were recovered.

The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
