Love Island confirmed that the dating show format has been picked up by broadcasting networks in Spain and Nigeria, and
Love Island will reach an African audience with Nigerian network Digital Play acquiring the format.
The first season will air on TVC for terrestrial and on 9 Vision Media for digital. Rumours of the Nigerian version circulated on social media initially but an ITV spokesperson confirmed the news to Metro.co.uk.
ITV boss Kevin Lygo recently teased that the show could be set in 2021. Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival this week, he explained: ‘It’s a really important show and a wonderful show.
