Nigerian defender William Troost-Ekong completes five-year move to Watford from Udinese
He used the last two seasons of his career in the Italian league
In 2019 AFCON Championship, Troost-Ekong was part of the Super Eagles squad that won bronze medal.
His transfer was announced officially on the Watford website, revealing that he will don jersey number five this season.
He’s the newest intake to join coach Vladimir Ivic’s squad as they hope to fight their way back to the Premier League next term.
“A former Netherlands youth international, Troost-Ekong made his senior international debut for Nigeria in 2015 and has since proven himself to be an important part of the Super Eagles’ defence, playing three times at the World Cup in Russia and making six appearances at last year’s African Cup of Nations in Egypt. “He will wear squad number 5.”
Before he parted ways with Italian League side Udinese, the Super Eagles defender played 66 games for them in all competitions and no goal was credited to his name.
